In the past, there were a discussions on the forum about counterfeit Bussman multimeter fuses which are very expensive.

About 5 years ago, I saw another video of fake fuse testing. 

The high speed of this test (a different video I can't find) shows the expanse of the fireball created.

You should be careful about buying parts from unauthorized distributors, not just electronic; the amount of counterfeit out there is tremendous.

I tend to see good fuses as cheap insurance for my meters, and they seldom if ever need to be replaced anyway.
