Weller ec2001 rebuild
« on: July 03, 2021, 09:19:00 pm »
hi

i have an ooooold weller ec2000 with ec2001 pencil, it served me well for many years, but i broke the heater assembly trying to remove a tip.

i got a replacement heater, ec234, expecting it to plug right in, but discovered i needed a new barrel-nut assembly, Ba60, so i got that too. then i found that the new heater has 2 fixing screws while the old one - and thus my handle - has 3. so i bought a new handle, tc218. now i find that the new heater and tc218 handle have what seem to be push-fit pins, while my ec2001 has a ceramic board and simple solder connections.

how do i connect my old sensor assembly (which is the most costly part to replace) with the new heater and handle? are there some kind of terminals i can put on the bare wires to mate with the pins of the heater ec234 inside the black plastic housing of the handle tc218? i attached a picture of the replacement cord assembly ec233 i can see the terminals on 3 of the wires but have no idea how to source them?!

thanks for any help/advice
