COZ 858-d report.
« on: July 14, 2020, 02:01:52 pm »
I ended up purchasing this use as my first Hot Air Rework station.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR2IWBN

As expected the following was wrong with it:

1) Poor Soldering on the grounds.
2) Neutral and Hot were reversed, where neutral went through the fuse and to the board while the hot went to the board all the time.

Very poor soldering jobs on everything inside. Poor Heat shrink.

I corrected the hot/neutral issues and re-did the grounds with crimped rings and it seems to work well at this point.

The front and rear panels were plastic so no grounding possibilities there.

Overall, about what you would expect for a $40 unit, but it will meet my needs and I'm comfortable with it at this point but will still leave it unplugged when I'm not actively using it!
