Many dehumidifiers today have a version with a pump. Turning on the pump is not an issue, as the bucket-full float easily can do that. Turning off is a different matter. Some versions use overheating of the submersible pump as he trigger. That approach did not appeal to me. The unit I got does not seem to work that way, but I dislike paying $50 to $80 more for an aquarium pump.
Anyone here do a tear down? Why not simply use a timer?
I want one for my shop in the barn, and cosmetics are not an issue, but raising the dehumidifier above the drain is.
