Step down voltage transformer

I just wondering what step down transformer to get because i want the Hakko FX-888D Soldering Iron but it comes with the us plug any suggestions of how to fix that problem

As I see oh the pcb the connections are for 220v. Why the step down?

Different transformers for 110 and 220V, but same top PCB. Look carefully and you will see it is marked 100/220V.

You right, only 220-240 V.

Maybe not a best solution,


Did you have a unused transformer (from Audio amplifier or anything) that have both 110/220 primary winding?
I'm sure you can make step up/down with it...(after safely insulate the secondary winding)


about the rating just make sure the transformer is rated for more then 90W (as far i remember the heater have about 70W rating)


with the configuration:
0-110V
0-220V


step up/down..
