The models of interest are the Quick 861DW, Atten ST-862D, Quick 957DW+, and Quick 857DW+.
Setting aside the 861DW and 862D higher end models I'm thinking that for the limited amount of hot air work I do the two lower Quick models can probably suffice (but I'm willing to be talked out of this).
What I can't find is something that explains if the 957DW+ is newer (or older) than the 857DW+. The 857DW+ seems to be difficult to find in the U.S. As best I can tell the 857DW+ is a 580W unit but it is not listed on the Quick web site - so maybe it's been discontinued?
At tequipment.net the specs say the 957DW+ is also 580W and with an air spec of 50L/min:
https://www.tequipment.net/Quick/957DW+/Desoldering-Equipment/Rework-Stations/?v=0(the site says it's a 957DW+ but the product photo says 957DW without the plus)
Anyone know what the difference is between plus and no plus?
Adafruit also says the 957DW+ is 580W but they show the air spec at 100L/min:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1869(the Adafruit product photo shows the plus)
The Quick site says the 957DW+ is 400W and 50L/min:
https://en.quick-global.com/Product/QUICK-957DW+-Hot-Air-Rework-Station.htmlI'm guessing Quick's specs are the correct specs....?
So, between the 857DW+ and the 957DW+ is the 857DW+ the preferred model (due to 180 more Watts and double the L/min)?
And if the 857DW+ is only available with a bunch of shipping cost from Asia, then does it make sense to live with the 957DW+ for around $100? Or is it "necessary" (TEA) to go for the Quick 861DW or Atten ST-862D?
Thx
