This probably happens all of the time, but I thought this was funny.

Recently I was looking at small OLED displays and came across the 'World's Smallest 0.32" OLED 60x32 Display Screen'

Call me a nitpicker, but I'm pretty sure that all 0.32" displays are the same size.

OK, That's probably why I never get invited to the fun parties.

But there's more!  Better hurry, because there are only six left at $16.50 each.   Of course I want to see the datasheet:

Maybe I'll use one in a project some day.  I wonder if JLCPCB has one (otherwise I have to buy a reel of them). 
Well, no.  That part number isn't known.  But they do have an "Organic Light Emitting Diode Display Screen".  A poor substitute?
Especially at $1.24 each.  In all fairness they have no stock, but LCSC has 143 of them for a slightly lower price ($1.28).  Now I'm sure that we are talking apples and oranges.  But let's see...

That manufacturer has quite a few options.

I wouldn't think too much about the cost on tindie, its just some person listing it for whatever they feel like.

Looks like the Tindie seller has designed a base PCB (providing the passives for the charge pump and exposing castellated pads for the I2C). I think most people would be happy to have those parts themselves on their custom board - but I guess that partially explains the markup!
