digger posted this in the aixun thread, worth a separate thread to discuss:

it's been mentioned a little, but there's the new T413 now:

https://aixun.com/product/t413-integrated-smart-soldering-station/

i didn't look at it too closely because i sort of don't care. i have a T420D i'm happy with, and i'm guessing this is just another SMPS model plagued by the 'gnd issue'.

however, one thing caught my eye. there will be a new platform they call "225". not sure if this new "T225" handle is included yet or if it comes later as a separate addon (supported by a fw update), but supposedly it can use 4 different cart platforms: C470, C245, C210, and C115. oddly, it seems they will begin selling their own 'compatible' carts as C250, C150, C080, and C030, respectively, instead of using the aforementioned JBC model numbers. i wonder if they're starting to get paranoid, feeling legal heat somehow from JBC, or if this hints at possible incompatibility with genuine JBC carts down the line.

the T225 handle has some extra gimmicks. it looks like it has an accelerometer built in that gives more standby/wake options. there are also buttons on the actual handle itself for changing temp.

Its sad they keep chasing gimmicks: AI voice control, tap control, accelerometer, handle buttons, etc. When they haven't even been able to iterate and make a solid quality low cost station without bugs (<$150). But I guess features sell. Maybe you can argue accelerometer is a safety feature.

The new tips are interesting: C250 (C475), C150 (C245), C080 (C210), C030 (C115). Allows you to swap various tip sizes without swapping the handle as well.
Video shows them being used in a T225 handle, not clear if they would fit in a T245 handle as well. Also not clear if they are 24V heater cores, or if they vary 12V/24V, and the station would detect them.

I think having separate threads for the T320 and T413 is a bad idea. The price of the T413 seems to mean its a replacement for the T320, and the two clearly have much in common. A separate thread just seems to fragment things. Just add T413 to the name of the other thread.

Seems like the T225 handle is not widely available yet, most sellers including T245 and T225 support is mentioned as "through a future firmware update".

Can just discuss the new tips and handles here if you want.
The problem with aixun is there could be some major issue in T413, or something fixed, and who knows if it will apply to T320 or not. Will T320 support T225 handle?

Yeah I don't see any sellers. Blog post here: https://www.aixuntech.com/newsinfo/aixun-t225-selfdeveloped-full-power-wirecontrolled-handle-is-coming/

Can't tell if the handle is using cheap blue plastic or proper rubber.
Though even the real one is hard rubber right?
