Songs to Test by
« on: November 29, 2011, 12:44:52 am »
I don't know how many people here are gamers, but I could not think of a more fitting group of people for an album called "Songs to Test by". It's not directly related to electronics design, but what other kind of music does everyone listen to while tearing into new toys or creating new ones?

I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 allot, takes away lots of energy of your brain cells, and so it works for me as tranquilizer.  ;D

Are those songs free of charge?  there is no preview, just download links.

EDIT: electronic synthesizer sounds, parts from the game.

Anything from..

Jeff Waynes, War of the worlds soundtrack
to
Rue Du Soleil
to
Bear McCreary, Battlestar Galactica soundtracks
to
Pendulum

Depending on mood and if i need to concentrate.

and yeah, portal music is quite good too, its in my playlist as well :)

Also, after watching the last ep of warehouse13 i have been playing this song often.
"Warning, youtube comments may have spoilers for episode"
"If you're into warehouse 13 you should watch the episode before listening to the song, the episode makes the song awesome"

Yes sir, http://www.thinkwithportals.com/ is the official site for the Portal game. I believe that I originally got the link from Steam.

I do agree that it is a bit inconvenient to have to download all the songs to listen to them, but it's hard to complain with no-charge.

edit:
@Psi - I also enjoy soundtracks while working, songs without lyrics seem to be the best while focusing.

yeah, definitely.

Also some of Michael Brooks stuff is good, they use it for background music in topgear sometimes. (Bolivia special, which was an awesome ep)

I can't listen to music when I have to be focused on one task, that task is usually calculating something for an analog design. When doing less demanding things, I do listen to music.
