Fixing a LG TV
« on: August 17, 2013, 04:35:50 pm »
I'm trying to fix a LG 19LS4R TV, that had bad caps (replaced) and broken 3,5mm audio jack with 8 pins, but I can't get sound out to the internal speakers. There is no burned components. Does anyone knows the pinout for the 3,5mm audio socket so I can at least get sound to speakers?

Thank you for your assistance, the schematic really cleared it out. I have to bridge the HP_DET with ground to make it work, if I readed the schematic correctly.
Edit: Bridging HP-DET to ground didn't work, still no audio. Hmm...

HP_DET goes to pin 37 of the IC ,it acts like a switch ! plug headphones into the socket and test T_Terminal 1 to pin 37

(pin4 of headphone jack touches pin 6a when headphone socket plugged in, and pin5 touches 6b) Its easier to understand that way .

Yeah, in situations like that the headphone jack usually operates like a switch to turn the internal audio off and on. I've seen them just go bad and not close completely when the plug is pulled out. Sometimes you can bend the inside parts to close properly.

Yes,they can go bad and also get damaged easily .If you need to replace the jack, the LG part number is : 6612F00099A .

My first post here...

I know some LG TVs have an option in the menu to disable the internal speakers, not sure whether you've checked this?
