Bosch 144-8CH15-L E Bike Charger no Power on LED no Output
« on: September 20, 2024, 10:05:02 pm »
Hi everyone,

A colleague gave me his eBike charger to check out, as it's no longer working.
Upon opening the charger, I immediately noticed that a smaller component between the electrolytic capacitors had burnt out. I assume it was a capacitor?
I removed the damaged component completely and temporarily bridged the burned fuse after the 230V input on the board.
Unfortunately, the charger is still not functioning. The two large 200V 470µF capacitors are now charged to around 155V, which wasn't the case before my intervention. The fuse is also holding up fine.

I also checked the smaller control board where the Slow/Fast button is connected, and I've marked the voltage readings on the picture of the main board. Since all the voltages seem to be present, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what the problem could be.

On the Power on LED i have about 1,7V
No hot Components on the smaller controller board.

My colleague mentioned that the green LED should light up as soon as the device is plugged in, but that's not happening.

Any ideas on what the issue might be? Does anyone here have experience with these types of chargers?

Thanks a lot for any help!
