Help me identify this pushbutton switch?
« on: August 30, 2018, 02:23:51 am »
Photos attached.  It's from a handheld remote control.  Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer - there's like a million of these to sort through.

Switch body is approx 11.8mm square and 3mm thick
Button is approx 7mm diameter & 5.5mm tall
PC pin spacing is approx 5mm
SPST push-to-close (ah, if only these would close!  They're crap, totally intermittent)

The original "parent" is the Omron B3F series tactile switch. The chinese have copied them and made it a generic with many different plungers built-in, instead of Omron's approach which requires additional buttons.

There are two (base) sizes, 6x6mm and 12x12mm. Plungers come in 0.5mm increments.

I think you have a 12x12mm, H=5.5mm plunger (or 6mm), through-hole part.

Search fleabay or ali for 12x12 tactile and you will find them.

Note that the specified height usually includes both base and button, but not the pins. So the size you want is probably 12x12x8.5 or 12x12x9. Measure your existing switch as a whole...eliminates rounding errors on separate measurements at least.

Thanks, with the right search terms I'm finding lots of them.  Much appreciated.
