TTi EX355P Power Supply - Current Limit problem
« on: September 24, 2024, 12:38:51 pm »
Hi to all the electronics passionates that will read this post.
My TTi EX355P Power supply has a strange problem : when I try to set the current limit, I start to rotate the current knob and I see the value increments on the display. Then, at 2 Amps it stops. The Power Suplly is rated 5 Amps and I can't understand why I can't reach the full rating.
I can't find the schematics online. I've found the EX354D service manual, but it has the analog potentiometers instead of encoders for current and voltage adjustment. In fact, I can see two TC516 DACs on my controller board that are not present on the EX354D schematics. They are used to set the references for the voltage and current loops, I gues.
Any ideas for troubleshooting? I see there is a PIC microcontroller on the board. I hope it's not faulty because I don't have the Software to load into it.
Thanks in advance to all,
Alfredo

Hi Alfredo!

Try to reduce output voltage. May be the output power is limited.
