Hi today i was with a good friend of mine looking arround in the NVram.
we discovered that in an original NVram they contain files like in the picture attached
need to be said: - The condition is that it is of the original calibrated state from a still in working condition TDS-scope. (All 7000 series models welcome)
so who is willing to make a full export from his still in good condition NVRAM by running the 5 simple steps "as read only" below and upload it here.
What steps do you need to do to export/read your NVram fully : [script attached below]
step 1: browse in explorer to c:\vxboot and rename c:\vxboot\topscript.hw -> topscript.hw.bak (vxboot can be hidden a folder) and connect the debug console and reboot your scope
step 2: After the reboot and with the attached files copied to the vxboot folder, enter the next command in your terminal: ( it stops shortly under Vxworks logo )
step 3: enter code below
cd "pc:c:/vxBoot"
To make a complete backup of your nvram, use the following command:
step 4: enter code below
< NVRAMToFile.txt
step 5:
RESULT: a nvrdump.bin is created in your vxboot.
Now you always have a good backup of your NVRAM for future failures.please rename and post you
nvrdump.bin here ( nvrdump_TDS7xxx_B0xxxx.bin ]where xxx are scope version and number
dont forget to rename your topscript.hw.bak back again to topscript.hw in your windows explorer and reboot to get the original state.
We want to get factory calibration software out of that original exported file to share here later.
for more scripting like restore and empty new nvram
