It's a PlayStation DualShock 4 controller. Not enough space in subject. :(

New description
I asked this in a Playstation-support forum. But now I think I'm stupid for even trying there:
I recently found my controller not loading anymore. So I bought an replacement board, thinking the USB-port might be broken.
I changed it, but that still didn't work. So I bought another replacement board, this time with ribbon cable. Because they are from china, so my reasoning, some could be broken. Yet, it still doesn't work.
Now I have three of those boards. I think they're all fine. But no cable connection to my PC, PS4 or power adapter is possible - it doesn't charge or gets recognized by anything.

I am currently charging the battery through a 5mm connecter I attached to the battery leads, because I also have no dock. (It's fine, it's a very good charger from Turnigy.)

If I connect the controller to my PC with USB when it is off, it blinks orange once. It doesn't do anything else. No driver installation or charging.
The fact that it blinks orange once means it is somehow getting some kind of connection. But that's the end.

Because I need a cable to use PS4 Remote Play on my Laptop I am kind of stuck now. Is it possible to use any controller for Remote Play? Does it have to be an original DualShock4 controller? They're too expensive to buy new every year. Shit on your quality-control, Sony!
The only other display I have is a 1990s CRT ... But I can't read any text on it! GAAAH!  :-DD

Any Idea what I can do?
Thank you very much! :)

Old thread opening with tin whiskers
Hi

I was just checking my PS4 controller because it wouldn't charge anymore. I swear I can see several tin whisker with my self-made microscope at one pin of the RGB-LED! (I can't really make a picture of it.)
So this is obviously not the issue why it's not charging anymore, but I was also looking at the mainboard and I can see them there too, I think.

Should I put it in the oven, to reflow? Or maybe scrub it with a brush and then coat it with something? What can I coat it with?
Do tin whiskers go through coatings? There is already a coating on the PCB. But I can see that it is cracked over almost every piece of tin. Maybe that doesn't help.

Any ideas/tips?
Thank you!

I changed it because it was too similiar to a thread I was just going to open until I thought about this one.

Does the controller work with the USB cable?
I've had my PS4 since launch day and my controller is still fine, but my PS3 controller also stopped charging, but in that instance it was the battery itself and it could work with the USB cable.

Something that I never have had a satisfactory answer, is whether the Tin whiskers are 100% Tin, or are they a solder alloy (whichever that was in the first place).

Wouldn't Pure Tin reflow at a slightly higher temp than a solder alloy? Definitively so for SnPb 63/37.

Only as long as it is still on.
I charged the battery externally now, but that is no Solution. I am thinking about soldering wires to it with a connector so that I can do that without opening the controller, I'm probably getting one of those connector boards from ebay.
Still, if those whisker were responsible for it somehow, it could kill by mainboard too. That would be expensive. So I rather kill it myself in an oven or something. xD
I didn't do it yet, but I thought about brushing off the connector board and trying it again.

EDIT: No it did not work. I have to change the connector board.
What about those whiskers? Should I do something?

Update:
I tried various USB-port boards, but they all don't work. Any Ides how to proceed? I really need the USB-cable connectivity for Remote-Play.

I would say: The chip that controls USB is somehow broken. I would guess either the use of non-Sony chargers or tin-whiskers. (It really looks baaaaaa-aaa-a-aaa-a-ad- oooh I can make pictures now! I forgot! I build a stand for my self-made microscope recently! That means, take it apart again... at one time in the future i am unable to screw the screw back in because the plastic is all gone... gaaaah!
Anyway, tomorrow (Or "later that day" depending on what your time-zone is) I'll upload some pictures of those whiskers.
Should be the same quality as my Avatar: couple of TFT LCD pixel (on a physically relatively huge display for it's virtual size.)

Sorry, not sorry for pushing.  :P
I really need the connection back. I want to buy new game but it's not worth playing it on the CRT. Fuck that thing! (It's almost not even worth playing it on my shitty 1366x768 laptop, but at least I can read TEXT ON IT :D!)
