Help me repair my 1080 ti or diagnose if it can t...
« on: August 23, 2018, 11:03:42 am »
Hi,

My 1080ti aorus extreme edition stop working. So what happen is that i modded with a water cooling solution from NZXT - KRG12 link below for ref.

https://www.amazon.fr/NZXT-RL-KRG12-B1-Carte-contr%C3%B4leur-pour/dp/B06XXF4Q68/ref=sr_1_7?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1535020183&sr=1-7&keywords=NZXT

And i made the mistake to power the fan with a connector attach to my front panel case, and it got disconected, i somehow hit or move the panel to disconect it.

So i assume that something went wrong in the area that the fan was suppose to cool down.

Could anyone point me what should i check in priority and where to prob for potential problem.

Here is the picture of the front and back of the card and the NZXT adapter:

The fan was supposed to cool down the VRM's, but on that photo I don't see any visible damage. Did it smoke?
Look for damages in the Diodes/Transistors, signs of thermal stress on resistors etc.
If you can't see anything then troubleshooting it without schematics will be tricky.
