Hi,

I bought the above multimeter about 2 years ago. Barely used a had-full of times and then stored for a year unused.
I tried to use it the other day with new batteries only to find out that it doesnt turn on!

There is another older thread with a similar case here with the same type of multimeter!

Not happy at all with Mastech!

I wonder if anyone has found anything on this...

Are you left the old batteries in when storage the meter? If yes then maybe leaked the old one and damage the device. It happens to me with one expensive clamp meter from extech won't turn on after few months. With one first look i can't see the liquid inside but after opened and look careffuly i see the damage. After a lot of detailed cleaning and meny meny tries and tests my meter works again.Never again alkaline batteries on all my meters only NiMh.
