Hi, I am trying to figure out how to get this board working again.
I'm just a learner, so all of your help is appreciated.
As you can see D2 has burned out, it is exactly like D5 in the second picture.
Please give me some ideas, from where to start...

Try to reverse engineer the circuitry around the bad diode to figure out its purpose and to check if there are any other issues. A burnt diode usually means high current, e.g. caused by a shorted component.

While the picture is pretty good, it's not good enough to resolve the necessary details.  What kind of device is this?

Thank you,
This is an electronic oiler.
Can you tell me what kind of diodes is this burnt one?

Hi!

These are Vishay SOD-80 (MELF) diodes of various types and a guide to their colour coding can be found here:–

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.vishay.com/docs/88912/diodesgroupbodymarking.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjJyoqg64jvAhUlShUIHb_vAIwQFjAAegQIBBAD&usg=AOvVaw0pcOfrHlpdBAVA5QPp7ij6

Is there any sort of manual for this electronic oiler? – there's very often an overall wiring diagram of the machine given that shows what devices, motors, switches, power supplies, etc., are connected to the board, which may give a clue as to why D2 burnt out!

Have a look on eBay or Google, you may be able to get a reasonably good picture of a board the same without the burnout for comparison purposes!

It's an enigma that's what it is!! This thing's not fixed because it doesn't want to be fixed!!
