Tektronix 2445a
« on: December 01, 2017, 01:29:05 pm »
Hi all,

I am new here.  interested in buying a scope to fix.  I have seen one with the following issues, any ideas where to start troubleshooting or what could be causing this?

The unit comes on initially and works fine approx. 5 minutes, after which time the x scan collapses.

regards

Presumably you are too late; this

has already been sold.

Apart from that, there are many sources of information on this forum and at the Yahoo! Tekscopes group.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

The unit comes on initially and works fine approx. 5 minutes, after which time the x scan collapses.

I recommend avoiding that one.  While this is a known problem with the 24xx series analog oscilloscopes, repair requires a replacement hybrid from a parts mule.

If you are looking for an oscilloscope to repair, then I recommend something older which will be easier to diagnose and maintain.
