Heathkit IO-12
« on: September 29, 2016, 10:45:14 pm »
Well, I'm a sucker for old gear, especially when it comes with its own heater. I saw this sad looking box sitting on the side of the road at a yard sale.
I couldn't bear to see a piece of equipment with such potential sitting there.

So I stopped and picked it up for a few bucks. It has a HUGE bandwidth of 5Mhz.
I don't know if it work because the plug is all messed up and it needs new caps, so nothing new for this kind of gear. :-/O,
But I'll keep you guys updated because I know a few of you have a slight obsession affection for things with tubes in them. Once I get pictures of the inside I'll post those too.

And for those playing along at home I'll included the schematic.

Sad.  That in a yard sale means someone's Grandpa either died or had to go into sheltered housing.   If you'd built that would you let it go in your lifetime to anyone except a young enthusiast?
