Help Identifying component
« on: July 17, 2024, 09:35:04 pm »
I believe this is a mosfet. It is getting 5v in on pin2 and ground on pin5. Can anyone help me find the specs, or possibly a suitable replacement?

D49 is written beside it. Why do you think it is a FET?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen very many diodes in that 6 pin sot23, but I know they are common. I don't have a good reason for believing it is a mosfet. It very well may be a diode, google results also assume that is what it is. I want to make sure I at least put one back that is close to spec

I would guess it is 3 diodes. Have you tried diode test 1-6, 2-5 and 3-4? (Power off of course.)

Yes, thats exactly what is is likely to be. The pins 1+6 and 3+4 are connected internally allowing you to pass through the device, ensuring that the shortest path to gnd/5V is through the clamping diodes.

That doesn't quite align with the second sentence of the opening post. Pin 1 is the one nearest the white dot on the PCB.

It does, if you rotate it 180 degrees. :-)

Edit:

It should be said that the device should work if the diode array is removed, albeit without ESD protection. You may need to bridge the inputs and outputs.

My apologies, my coworker had submitted this question for me(my activation was stuck in spam limbo). Yes I had the pinout upside down. Pin 2 is ground, pin 5 is 5v. Does anyone by chance have a suggestion for replacement? The component is part of the camera circuit for a self cleaning vacuum, as well as a birthday present for the 19th. Any help is appreciated.

Amazing help as always. It looks like that one isn't made anymore, but I believe the USBLC6-2SC6Y for the sot23 package is its successor. I will pick a few up. Thanks EVERYONE! You are amazing, and I owe each of you a cup of coffee.

^Nothing is obsolete. SC6 is packaging suffix, Y suffix is automotive qualified variant which you don't need. The regular part is USBLC6-2SC6.
