Trak Systems 8900-9 Dual Rubidium Frequency Standard
« on: December 18, 2022, 03:07:39 am »
I just purchased one of these off Ebay and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about them. I haven't been able to find much on the web. The Rubidium Oscillators seem to work, but it has other problems. It also has 2-5MhZ Oven controlled Oscillators that work. Both power supplies work. Everything is redundant. There are 3 output distribution boards and they seem to have a problem. When plugged in they generate a fault. Of course I don't get any 10 MHz output at all. I do have a 5 MHz output.

I believe this was part of a Motorola Multicast Radio system.

Does anyone have a operations manual or schematics?

I searched for Trak System here and didn't find anything.

If it was part of a telecommunication setup you may never find manuals let alone schematics. Maximum what you may find is a general description how it fits into the system.

Thanks for the link to the book. I hadn't seen it before. I ordered it.

I'm sure it won't have schematics either, but it's more than I have now.

I was hoping maybe a tech for the company might be on the board with an old service manual.......

One can always hope
