Bridge Rectifier
« on: October 10, 2021, 04:31:34 pm »
Hello all
I've got a bridge Rectifier for a Welder that has 24 diodes and about 6 or 7 of them are fried.
I've tried finding replacements but can't seem to find the same ones.
The diodes are marked TV 256R
Could I possibly replace them with a stud type diode? If so what value diode would I need?  Or could anyone suggest an equivalent?
The welder itself is a 1 phase 120amp MIG
Thanks

Alternator diodes are usually press-fit types. Be aware that they have two different polarities.

Few years ago I made a 150A welder and used 4xKBPC5010 in parallel. Still kicking to this day.

This is probably more reliable and cheaper. Just make sure you buy original products and not fakes.
