Looking for this heat-sink...

Hey guys,
I'm at a bit of a loss on this one, I'm looking to replace this heatsink in a guitar amplifier and cannot find a suitable replacement on digikey. It is for a TO-220 package, and the silver clip has two pins (broken off) that solder to the circuit board, and the black heatsink slides on overtop.

I was hoping maybe someone has seen a similar one before. If it helps, the PC pins are 1" apart, and the the heatsink is 1.75" high and 1.25" deep and wide. Marked on it is "THM CL05".

Thanks, I've ordered a few parts from digikey to try, including Part HS352-ND that has the same pin spacing and very close dimensions. I believe that Aavid Thermalloy is the manufacturer of the original, but they no longer make them with those bad flimsy pins that break off.. which is good!

I've used something very similar in the past without the clips, but I haven't used Digikey before and don't have the exact model number.

This seems to be the closest equivalent I could find on Digikey:

I've also used the 530002B02500G (ordered from Element14) which seems to be the bigger brother of the one above, essentially the same except about 50% taller:

It looks like the part you need is just the clip, not the whole heatsink.  From the picture it looks like the clip slides into the heatsink body and it's the clip that has the solder tabs on it.  I could be wrong though.

You're 100% right Smokey, I just don't know where to find that clip. Otherwise, I'll try one of the complete heatsink assemblies mentioned above.

I've dealt a lot directly with Aavid for design support.  They have really good customer service and technical support.  I bet if you called them up and asked they would help you find at least a part number for what you are looking for, if not a sample.

I guess I'm one of those "creative" people, I would just fix these broken pins and make it strong to never brake again, even with vibration, just my opinion
