easiest repair - Behringer Mx882 mixer
« on: July 09, 2024, 08:02:39 pm »
It was listed as not working with this in the description:

"Selling for Parts or Repair. This item(s) can not be returned. This is for repair by a professional technician. Even if this item is untested, it will still not be working and need repair. Do not purchase if you hope it will simply work, it won't."

Needing the mixer, I figured what the heck, probably a socketed opamp in the output.  It only has four 1/4 jacks on channels 5 and 6 and they aren't outputs as much as in/out splits from main.

Plugged it in, unpunched all the lit switches as they are splitters not on the output bus and it works fine.  I guess that makes me a professional technician!

Operator error to the rescue.

Hope all is well.

I might be able to best that.

I bought a 5.5 digit Keithley 199 multimeter in "for parts" condition for $20. The auction site listing showed that it would display only "-----" for all functions. When I received it, it did indeed display that, until I pressed the Trigger button to start measurements. Then it worked great! One-button fix. I had an unfair advantage, as I already owned another K 199 and knew that it displayed "-----" when not triggered.
