Rather than post a picture, one can look at several of these units on ebay. It's not a large unit, and yes it was rebranded. Or, I think, a special import with the proper logos etc. to make it appear as though it was a genuine Simpson product. Which it was not.
I have some pics of the damaged part and the interior where it is supposed to go, if that would help.
I do find it odd that such a nice unit is so rare. Perhaps it was overpriced or poorly marketed.
The famous model 260 has to be the most popular VOM in history, in spite of the fact that there were better units with more logical interface. Notably the Triplett 630, that had two main drawbacks, namely its larger size and use of a rare 30 Volt battery for Ohms. I have one of each but seldom use them.
