Need help on transformer replacement suit fossil engel fridge

Hey all,
I am restoring an old 2nd generation 12v engel car fridge. The oscillator and transformer are both cactus and need to build a replacement, but i am stuck on one thing, and that is how to drive the compressor (22-25vac at around 2.2-2.5amps and 50hz) from a 12vdc source. I know i will likely need to build an oscillator which is no issue however it seems impossible to find a suitable ironcore transformer. I am asking if there is a better way of driving this compressor or if there's a suitable transformer out there for 12v oscillation to 25vac.
