HP1700 series oscilloscope crimp connections
« on: August 19, 2021, 12:40:25 am »
Hi all, working on a couple of HP1707B scopes . Some of the single wire to board crimp connections have become loose , I'm troubleshooting so I've been disconnecting and reconnecting a lot . I guess connectors of this size have a very low repetitive connection cycle lifetime anyway. Squishing with a pliers only works once, the metal seems brittle with age ?
Anyway , if you have worked with theses scopes and have replaced these crimps , where did you acquire them ? The pins are .045" square or 1.13mm , wouldn't bet the house on my calipers but it's a reasonable ballpark estimation of size.
The pins I refer to are on the rear of the low voltage distribution board ( behind the fuse bank).Thought it'd be a simple thing to find but so much for thought . Would appreciate any suggestions on where to source them.

All the best for now.

I think those were Molex parts. I would start there.

A (clear) picture would be worth a thousand words…
