Repair: Rohde & Schwarz FSEA 20/30

Hello,

My next repair project will be a Rohde & Schwarz FSEA 20/30.

I will receive it within the next weeks, presumbably, and it has a known fault:

STEST aborted: RF-Modul RF-Converter, state 18

(see attached picture)

It is a device from a friend and he got it like this amongst other stuff. If I can repair it, that would be awesome, if not, no loss anyway.

My plan, once I receive the device, is:

1) Test it, get to know the installed options and firmware.
2) Clean it externally
3) Clean it internally: disassembling it, cleaning all contacts, re-assembling it

I hope/wish that step 3 could actually lead to a positive result and the device starts working again.

If not, what are my options? The RF Module is probably the most complicated component and I have not seen any replacement parts on eBay.

What are your suggestions?

Hi,

Best of luck with the analyser. It might be a bit more involved than just clean contacts but you might be lucky.

The service manual is available on ko4bb's website, it is not bad,there are a selection of self test functions that you can start that may help you.
