Hi,
Had anyone ever successfully repaired a heat seal flex cable to LCD connection before? Quick search is not very encouraging.
I have a cable to a small display with contacts on the flex sheared right outside the contact area on perhaps 1/4th of the length. One option as I see it is to push in the cable under just a fraction of mm and to re-heat to establish the bond to existing contacts. Another I guess is to order a new cable, obtain anisotropic adhesive, clean deposited pads on the display and make a new heat seal?
It's possible to order flexi cables naturally but in this application are carbon contacts required? I assume it's some speciality mask and deposit process, is there any vendor not in "call us for a quote" price range doing that?
It's bleak either way so not holding my breath but any hints would be appreciated.
