Bridge rectifier replacement options
« on: February 01, 2020, 11:42:25 pm »
Hi everyone,

I’m trying to repair a 15V 2A variable DC power supply.
The bridge rectifier overheated and blown so I was wondering if I can replace it with a different rectifier because it looks like this power supply was built with whatever parts were available :)
The one used is KBP210 (see pic), I’ve also attached data sheet.

Thanks!

As long as the power handling is the same or higher you just need something that will fit physically and have the same pinout .  That is a pretty standard device.

Agree, I would go for at least a 100 PIV rated at least 5 - 10 A to give a good overload margin. Bridges are cheap, so don’t scrimp.
