tek 2465a noisy beamfind switch

just bought a used 2465a in reasonably good/clean condition.

the beamfinder switch seems to stick, though; maybe its just a matter of removing it and cleaning it?  I hvae not opened the scope yet, just got it yesterday.

it takes several wiggles and presses of that button to get it out of beamfind mode.  so I'm hoping its just mechanical issues.  worst case, I may just bypass it if I can't clean or replace it.

while I'm on the subject, what else should I look for, to replace or check, when I have the case open?

I went thru the 2465b model (that I bought a few years ago) and I replaced its battery backed dallas calibration module.  wondering if the A model also has this or if its some other part.

probably will have to replace the fan.  is it the same as the B model?  if so, I already ordered a fan for my older B and I'll just order another of the same one.

Beam find are normally momentary switches so I'd expect it to be a mechanical issue.

Just spritz a tiny bit of your favorite contact cleaner in from the rear of the switch...

That trick works. i put a drop of Deoxit red in there. To do this, you have to remove the main case but then the switch is accessible.
