Eton / Lextronix E1 service manual wanted
« on: August 23, 2020, 10:36:04 am »
Hello.
Can someone help me with the service manual for the Eton / Lextronix E1.
My search in the usual places was unfortunately unsuccessful.
Thanks Jörg

At the time when the e1xm yahoo group operated, I had downloaded a 'service' manual, which I still have. This is fairly good, but lacks all schematics, limiting its helpfulness in tracing faults etc.
I can send it to you at your private mail address. Call me at <najrao86@gmail.com>

I have three of these e1's, and have bricked one of them while fault finding -- entirely because of a serious error in the service manual. More about this if interested.

Hi NAJR.
Thanks for your offer to help. I will contact you. Of course, the schematics would be of greater help in troubleshooting.
Do you know whether the circuit for signal processing from RF to LF is comparable to the satellite 800 Millenium?
My E1 has a bug in the FM stereo stage.
When I activate stereo, weak FM signals are noisy with the internal speaker.
The right channel is missing on the audio outputs. With headphones and LineOut.
With FM mono there is no noise and both audio channels have a signal.
In addition, with the internal speaker, the FM audio is much quieter than e.g. AM or SSB on LW / MW / SW.
I don't know. whether this is normal.
I haven't opened the device yet.
Therefore I don't know at the moment which integrated circuits in the E1 are used for the FM demodulation and the stereo decoder.

Greeting. Joerg
