Component Identification
« on: July 14, 2022, 07:54:56 pm »
Hi there! this may not be the right place to ask but I have an SMD component that I need identifying that looks like an SMD diode with the code SM4B across the top. Does anyone have any idea where to get one from because from my research today I cannot find a matching component.

The bonus is only one of the four I have on a small PCB I'm trying to repair has popped so if needed I can test the other three to find an equivalent component.

The kicker ... I have no schematics of the PCB in question yet and even then I doubt I will get a response from the company who manufactured the board.

Any help is welcome guys and thanks in advance.

Other valuable information that aids identification:
  • What device it is? Type, manufacturer, model.
  • Showing surroundings of the component.
  • Giving an overall view of the board with the component location marked.
While markings provide some candidates, the final confirmation may only be obtained by seeing if the placement of the component makes sense.
People imagine AI as T1000. What we got so far is glorified T9.

The device is a Cloud CXV-425 100V Line Amplifier, I'll attach more photos once I've cleared my bench.
