Who can help me finding the datasheet for ICN2025BP by Chipone?
« on: October 09, 2024, 07:35:17 pm »
Hi,
i've got LED panel(type mentioned here in another post), having 2 rows of 6
P10RGB-panels(16x32pixels).
and i'm hoping to find a way to control them by software.

But it has this ICN2025BP chip for which i can't find the datasheet.

Ps. i searched mouser, used google and yandex, but didn't find anything useful.
On youtube i did find someone who reverse-engineering a RGB panel which used another Chipone chip ICN2053 and had at least a datasheet.
part 1
part 2

But i found nothing for the ICN2025BP :/
I'm hoping one of you can find it.

That chip is probably just a standard shift register with current control and latching.  Bog standard part, compare to TI TLC5940.

Chances are that any other LED display panel will have the same pinout, the Chinese are very good at doing that, there will be 10-20 companies all making panels with identical pinouts.  So if you find the pinout of a display with the same IDC connector then it will work.

These displays will require a fast microcontroller or FPGA to drive, since you are usually having to construct the PWM values yourself. (This can be done by subfield multiplexing.  Other techniques are available.)  See a project I did here:  https://wiki.leedshackspace.org.uk/wiki/Projects/Big_Ass-LED_Display

(Also this isn't really a repair question.)

Thanks.

i moved it to repair, because there i thought most people are in search of datasheets.

The RGB-panels mentioned in those video's had chipone ICN2053's, which are not the standard shift register, but have internal PWM modulation and even RAM.

The original controllerboard "RHX-8Q2" built in to the panel has a RDA5918B microcontroller and 2 buffer IC's MW245B.
i think it's impressive how it manages it with reasonable microcontroller.
In the following table you can see the modes limits;

RHX-8Q2 specs in this google-translated page

The sellers' specifications say "Support special chip modules such as ICN2038S/SM16188B". The ICN2038S also has built in Ram and command processing.
I'm hoping mine (ICN2025BP) hasn't. I'm hoping to find a datasheet somehow.
