Advantest U3751 No Boot Device
« on: May 13, 2024, 03:29:54 am »
I've seen a local ad for a used Advantech U3751 spectrum analyzer, selling for less than $100! Ad says it powers up, but is missing the boot device (see photo). I've seen some teardown photos in this post by Dgiese, and it looks like a CF card? https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/advantest-u3751-(sa)-rf-unlocked-pll-issue/msg3876554/#msg3876554

Anyone else know this SA? Thoughts on possibility to fix it? I've looked online and (not surprisingly) I don't see any firmware or drive image. Any kind person able to image the CF card for me (assuming it's just that)?

Looks like servicing is by R&S, so not sure how much that might cost?

I guess I'm just asking for thoughts on if this is worth a $100 bet?  ;D

Once someone, not me, bet heavily for a winner of Africa's Cup game when it was 4-0 and 15 min to go.
The bet was correct, but result was 4-4.

With luck the battery has been empty and auto detect is in the future.
