since reflowing the 3.3v standby regulator chip, i now have my 3.3v, but when i go to plug in the front panel, it makes the output voltage drop down to about2.9 from the ~3.5 that it generates before plugging in the front panel. the added amperage draw that plugging in the front panel adds is ~20mA. for a measured total of ~60mA being consumed with power being injected onto the board.
anyone have any ideas as to what to look for next to see why such a low amperage is causing it to drop the voltage?
I have already checked the feedback circuit to make sure that it was getting the voltages fed back for what it is expecting. according to the datasheet, the minimum Vref voltage it expects is 598mV and when i have the front panel plugged in, it measured at 534mV. I dont think my issue lies with the feedback.
I am unsure of what to check next.
for reference the regulator chip is a monolithic nb671.
