4-20 ma 1-10 volte source repair
« on: May 17, 2018, 08:57:48 pm »
hi all

need a hand with this one as its past my knowledge

this device is a current voltage loop source as shown here https://www.timeelectronics.com/portable-voltage-current-instruments/7006-loop-simulator-source/

it was accidentally injected with 24 volts and now wont work  as you can see its got no ovious sings of damages so i suspect on od the 2 chips at the top or one of the transistors

any advice , i am not in a rush i have just started to work through all the parts checking as i go

thanks

Check the 8 pins ic,  is it somekind of powersupply / controller / buck boost  smps .... ka34xx number  it has an coil and rectifier diode near it, maybe busted ???

Search fo any 3 pins regulator transistor look a like ...

Under the v3.0 you have an pic xxx controller, hope it is not busted

Ask the company for an schematic under non disclosure agreement ??

i think the item with v3.0 is a micro controller that controls the actions of the device and it works as it totall functions

i think the top 2 ic are the outputs and they dont

they are about £10 to buy so i might wasp them with sockets , i am at least going to test them some more and de soilder them as my next effort
