We have quite a few of these around in our labs. They have re-designed these, and a new model is available at $350
So it might be worth figuring out what happened to this one. The complaint was intermittent audio out.
Investigating turned up corroded silver plated wires that contact Swiss springs soldered to the PCBA.
The plating is so thin that the corrosion/tarnish was all but removed. Light polishing with a pencil eraser
removed what was left. We tinned them. Not sure if that will be much of a permanent fix. Re-assembly yielded NO POWER. Disassembled again, and traced power to the largish 100uH choke that touches the case when assembled. Breaks reliably when the unit is dropped.
