[SOLVED] Recommended QN7002 n-channel MOSFET alternative
« on: April 11, 2017, 01:53:04 pm »
I am a complete noob with hardware so I apologize in advance.

I have a damaged SOT-23 component in the voltage regulation area of my PC motherboard. It has the code "G28" and I figured it is a Renesas QN7002 N-channel vertical type MOSFET. I just looked up the code on http://www.s-manuals.com/smd/g2.

Here is the data sheet: http://www.s-manuals.com/pdf/datasheet/q/n/qn7002_r1.0.0_renesas.pdf

I cannot seem to find that part anywhere so can someone recommend a readily available drop in replacement?

Thanks!

2n7002 mosfet is jelly-bean part available from lot of manufacturers (ST, dioides incorp., fairchild... virtually anyone makes it) . so feel free to use any sot-23  mosfet which has the number 7002 in it's part number.

http://www2.renesas.eu/_pdf/D18259EJ4V0PF00.PDF gives some cross-references.  It looks like its a re-packaged 2N7002.   Caution SC-59 and SOT-23 package dimensions are *NOT* quite the same so check compatibility with the actual board footprint before ordering.
