Solid State Amp Project

Hi there! Im planning to make an small 100W guitar amplifier head, small as possible with 100W of power. i made a few TIP142/147 amps with this PCB. but i wonder what improvements can i do to this circuit, or if there is another way to get 100w from that type of size/complexity amp,,,

TI makes some chips that will do as much as 600W in a size of a quarter and need only small heatsinks, as long as you're willing to solder surface mount.

Hi

Put a 1K resistor in series with the input electrolytic capacitor and a Zobel network at the output of the amp. Both actions will improve the amplifier stability...

Edit: Put a 100K resistor in parallel with the 100 pF capacitor at the input. It will charge the 10uF electrolytic input capacitor, in absence of any source connected to the amp.
