Dear Engineers,
A contractor has done the attached prototype PCB for us using the JTK3048S05 DCDC module from XP Power.com.
(spec is 48vin, 5V, 5A output.

Would you agree that at the input, the 2u2 and 82u caps should swap places with each other?

(it seems difficult to say, because there’s no way of knowing if there is already capacitance inside the DCDC module? If there’s no internal caps, then if it’s a BCM buck in the module, then the 2u2 cap will be heavily over-ripple-currented.)

Normally I would agree with you, but If you look at the datasheet of the JTK3048S05 DCDC module, you provided and look on the bottom of the last page, there a EMI input filter is shown with an inductor directly connected in series to the input of the DC/DC converter. Therefore I assume (educated guess) that there is sufficient input capacitance to handle to ripple current. But as mentioned it is only guessed.

Page 3 of the power suppies datasheet mentions a few times:
"External input filter required, see applications note"

So read it's application note for suggestions on filtering for this particular SMPS module.

5V * 5A = 25Watt, which is 500mA at 50V.
The links to the capacitor datasheets do not work so I have not checked if your capacitors can handle this.
