What does this mean.

This is on the tag of a distribution transformer. Does anyone know what the number 12470Y mean. Thanks

12470 is the voltage across phases, and Y means it is a wye-connected primary. The primary voltage betwen each phase and the neutral (star) point is 7200. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-phase and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta-wye_transformer for more details.

12470V is phase to phase voltage. 7200V is the phase to neutral voltage.

Thank you both, knew it was 7200 but did not know the other stuff. Still learning.
