tone circuit help
« on: January 04, 2012, 11:11:32 am »
hello I am using the duncan amplification tonestack calculator to test the signal response of some the example circuits. For the life of me I can't get those same measurements when i do the simulations in MultiSim.

I'm not sure how to go about getting similar results.

any help would be great.

I plan on maybe making building guitar pedals as a hobby and am interested in being able to show a graph on the signal response.

thanks again,
kennesson

Silly question but did you earth the lower end of the source, C2 & R4?
(It seems to have been omitted from the diagram which doesn't make sense without it.)

I've just run a simulation with the earth in place and it matched the response shown.

I think i'm doing ok. I used your advice and grounded the bottom of the schematic and everything looks alot better now. I'm using the Bode plotter and I get images similar to the one in the picture but the scales are different so they don't look exact but you can see that they start, stop, dip and everything else at the same places.

Thanks for your advice. It worked a lot better this time with your help and a little sleep.

My problem now is getting the scales and ticks right to match the drawing. Its not completely necessary I just like way the Tone stack calculator looks.

anyway, Thanks again.
