Can anyone ID this power connector
« on: October 01, 2018, 07:32:10 pm »
Does anyone know the name of this power connector?  Used on the Sencore PA251 power adapter.  I have a hard time believing it's custom.

Someone is selling replacement supplies on eBay (aftermarket) so the connector must be available.  I have several 17VDC power bricks and I'd rather just re-purpose one with the correct connector than spend $80 at eBay.

Someone else asked same question here (https://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/vt.mpl?f=tubediy&m=236446) and he had no luck asking Sencore.

Thanks!

I was thinking it looked "IEC" like.

It can't be Australian specific as Sencore is a US manufacturer.  Googling for "mini IEC", the only thing with the same profile are on Australian sites.  Is there some alternate name other than "mini IEC"?  It seems the kind of thing that must be available on AliExpress if I can only come up with the right search term.

Never seen these,
you could try if a C5 fits but I doubt it and it has not the rectangular shape.
Looks proprietary.

It's clearly not a C5 which has a round profile.  I also don't think it's proprietary as a) Sencore (US manufacturer) used it  b) the Australian site claims it's used in "specific brands of EFTPOS terminals and other devices".

Saw this auction and it reminded me of this thread:

Possibly the same connector?

Thanks. Looks like it.   I think you can see it in the image here:  http://www.anoma.com/switching-power/30w-cord-in-out.htm

I asked Anoma what its called. The email bounced :-)  Called them, they knew what I was talking about but had no idea of it's name and no interest in helping further.

In the mean time I ordered 3 of these (https://www.wagneronline.com.au/mini-iec-to-bare-wire/power-solutions/data-computer/acl117-47410/969715/pd/) US$30 including shipping which wasn't bad.

Looks vaguely like something from Hypertronics/Smiths Interconnect. Sencore used them on other products at about the same time period as the LC102.

Looks the one Dell used on their earlier laptops.

The old ZyXEL modems have the same connector (low voltage from the wall wart).
