I have a need for some adhesive foam protection (or similar) to apply over a PCB area where there are M6 press-fit terminals and also mosfets.
Something I can get cut into a shape and then stuck over the top of the PCB to offer some protection during final assembly.
Dropping nuts and tools onto the PCB while doing up the M6 nuts may damage component etc..
Does anyone have a recommendation for types of materials to use? or types of materials to avoid?
I'm thinking just some die-cut dense adhesive foam shaped to the PCB area?
I guess my question is really around any warnings you might have.
Maybe some foams/adhesives might outgas something that could corrode the PCB etc.. While others would be safe?
Doesn't have to be foam, just something to absorb minor drop impacts from 10cm above the PCB.
Perhaps I just need to make sure the foam is rated as "ESD safe" as an indication that it's ok for PCBs?
Thanks
