Today I picked up a beautiful AKAI LCT3201AD LCD tv but the problem is that the unit does not work... So I opened the unit up and found a crap load of Decon Caps blowing up.. I want to repair this unit but not sure if it's really worth fixing
Oh by the way what company of caps should I use
?
The main board pictured below (Not my board but a pic used for representation ) that I have has over 1/3 of the caps blow or the rubber piece is coming out and the power board has 8 more caps that need repaired too ..
Thanks
JAy

One of the best places I have found to get information on TV replacement capacitors is here:
http://www.badcaps.net/forum/
They even have listings of TV set models that you can buy capacitors replacements kits for.
A really neat place!
Hope this helps,
George

Any TV with blown caps are mostly worth trying to repair it ...

A couple of $ worth of caps and an hours work, Its definetly worth replacing it even if your going to sell it !
Try to use panasonic caps, Or ones that haven't been bought on Ebay from hong kong !
