With just the 2.2mh inductor, the oscillator runs at 600Khz.

Vs. the oscillator + HC4040 solution, the HC4060 solution is simpler and more compact.

However, HC4060 runs slow and there are holes in its divider output. So if you are looking for continuous band of output, HC4060 isn't for you.
