How to run a galvanometer?

I got one of
these
insulation monitors at work, and I want to replace the electronics in it with some custom stuff for another application. But I'm not quite sure how to drive the galvanometer , does anyone have a clue? Resistance measurements shows about 60ohms when the pointer is held still. Jumping up if moving.

Usually they are controlled with current anywhere in the 0 to 100 uA range to 0-10 mA.
Ad a current meter in series and you can measure the full deflection current.
Its a galvanometer (wiki ) a coil that rotates in a magnetic field.
