Drive a sharp LCD by TOSHIBA chip
« on: August 29, 2019, 10:10:57 am »
Help Please,
Now I have a sharp LCD (model: LS055T3SX05) and a THOSHIBA chip (TC358870XBG).
But first of all, I want to light up the LCD. From what I read there are three pins (LED+, LED-, LED_PWM) related to backlight.
I apply 5v to LED+ with 0v to LED-, for LED_PWM I am using the 3.3v blue pill (arduino) to produce pulse. However, Backlight is still not working......
anyone can help? appreciated!!!!!

Backlight is 6S2P so it's not going to run on 5V.

But weather this LCD need to be driven by code (like power on sequence) with a MCU or direct voltage can light up the LCD?
I found there is a information say "POWER ON sequence, power off sequence, video mode sequence" in the lcd document, so that I wonder this lcd need MCU to drive.

it would help us if you attach a datasheet fro the display - I've tried looking for it and it does not seem readily available.

the backlight has 6 leds in series and no back-light driver
you'll need to supply at least 18V, current limited to ~ 20mA for start

about how to initialize the display - no clue without a data sheet

Of course, here we go.

I am quite confused weather the mipi lcd can power on backlight by supplying voltage directly without any code or power sequence?
thanks, bro.
